Because her bloodlust was not quelled at the end of the battle against the enemies of Ra, Sekhmet destroyed almost all of humanity. So Ra poured out 7000 jugs of beer in her path. Mistaking the beer for blood, she became so drunk she slept for three days, and humanity was saved.
