The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge is a free museum, art gallery, library, and visitor information center in the heart of Canterbury. Housed in a Grade II listed Victorian building, it is one of the city’s main cultural attractions, combining art, local history, and public learning spaces under one roof. It has eclectic collections similar to a “cabinet of curiosities”, including fine art, taxidermy specimens, weapons, and archeological artifacts.
The building is part library with huge windows so the lighting conditions are not exactly ideal for a museum exhibit in some of the rooms.
